Where knowledge is nurtured and curiosity grows
Bright Sparks Pre-school Values
Children are at the centre of everything we do at Bright Sparks Preschools. We are strong believers in teaching children, but in such a way they aren’t aware they are being taught. Through our routines, environment and teaching, combined with the Early Years Foundation Stage we aim to inspire passionate, curious, independent, resilient and confident learners. Happiness and wellbeing are at the core of our values. When the gate to a child’s learning is unlocked – anything is possible.
Bright Sparks Pre-school Aims
To prepare our children to be the best they can be by establishing a lifelong love of learning.
To create an environment where children have choice and open-ended play opportunities so they can become independent leaders of their learning and play.
We aim for the children to be offered the freedom to explore their own interests and can choose what to for much of the session. The adult joins them and supports them in their pursuits using ‘teachable moments’ to support the child’s learning and development.
To provide a safe and stimulating environment where children are supported and encouraged to become independent learners and learn to manage risk.
To support our children in becoming respectful, happy and motivated learners with a belief in themselves.
To celebrate each child’s individual story, uniqueness, talents and achievements.
To build strong collaborative partnerships with parents and outside agencies.
To develop a culture of learning from our youngest learners through to our school leavers. The staff team also immerse themselves in the culture of learning by embracing ongoing continuous professional development. Ignite the children’s imagination and creativity through our environment, routines and teaching. To provide an inclusive environment that supports and champions each individual child and family.
How we achieve our aims
Bright Sparks approach to teaching
We use an approach called In the Moment Planning (Anna Ephgrave) This involves taking each moment of a child’s curiosity and turning it into an activity and teachable moment. This approach is also blended with some planned and inspired theme opportunities which reflect the rhythm of the year for celebrations, festivals and community activities.
Bright Sparks Curriculum
The aims of the Bright Sparks Curriculum are made up of the below.
Bright Sparks has regard for Development Matters Government curriculum guidance for The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) This is used to deliver the EYFS learning and development requirements through play-based activities.
As a team the children are supported to work towards or beyond our Bright Sparks Pre-school Aspirations within their key rooms. We use a golden thread of learning from our youngest to our eldest learners using the pre-school aspirations as a guide across all rooms and a key person and whole team approach.
We offer a continuous provision with Bright Sparks Core Resource’s, Environment and Experiences
We support each child to have embedded skills within the Bright Sparks Curricular goals during their time with us reaching their full potential.
